Putting regional water supply and sewerage first

VA SYD was formed January 1st, 2008 as a statutory joint authority, in order to address the issues we will be facing in the future in an increasingly complex industry. Cooperation across municipal borders enables the water treatment works to operate more efficiently and increases the level of service.

what we do

VA SYD has about 300 employees and is concerned directly or indirectly with the supply of drinking water, sewage treatment and waste disposal. We are specialists within our field and focus on further developing techniques and processes to contribute to a more sustainable society.

The cooperation across the municipal border of Malmö and Lund enables flexible use of the water supply and sewerage system.

Our head office is situated at Hans Michelsensgatan 2 in Malmö. We also have operational and maintenance units in Malmö, at the Bulltofta water treatment works, the Sjölunda sewage treatment plant in Norra Hamnen, the sewage treatment plant in Klagshamn, and the Turbinen pumping station on Malmöhusvägen.

In Lund, there are operational units at the Källby sewage treatment plant and at eight other smaller sewage treatment plants in various parts of the municipality.
