Electronic Waste
Electronic waste can contain metals, flame retardants and other substances harmful to man or to the environment. This is why electronic waste must not be sorted in any type of container together with your ordinary household waste or bulky refuse.
Electronic waste is anything with a plug or battery. That is, everything from battery-operated toys to blow-driers to white goods. Electronic waste should always be left intact and not taken apart. Then they will be better protected in the sorting process.
At the electronic waste recycling at Sysav, metals and other materials are separated and taken care of in an eco-friendly process.
WHERE DO I DISPOSE OF ELECTRONIC WASTE?
Electronic waste can be disposed of at one of Sysav's manned Recycling Centres. In Malmö, there are two Recycling Centres:
- Sjölunda Återvinningscentral, Borrgatan in Malmö
- Bunkeflo Återvinningscentral, Gottorpsvägen in Bunkeflostrand
DO YOU LIVE IN A SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSE?
If you live in a single-family house in Malmö or Burlöv, VA SYD offers to collect electronic waste for a fee. Leave the things outside, at the edge of your property.
Examples of electronic waste that we collect are stoves, dishwashers, washing machines, refrigerators, computer screens, stereo equipment, etc. The charge for the first package is 100 SEK, for additional packages 50 SEK. The maximum fee is 300 SEK.

If you live in a flat, contact your landlord or building society for information about removal of electronic waste.
