If you own a property in Malmö or Burlöv it is compulsory to have a subscription for refuse collection. You can make changes in your subscription, for example the size of your bin and how often it is emptied. Changing your subscription costs 129 SEK per occasion. 

We have also started to successively offer food waste separation to single-family house owners! It's easy to recycle and many restaurants, municipal functions, building societies and tenement houses have already started. 

Food waste separation

Living in a single-family house often means that you have a fair amount of garden waste. If you have a compost pile in your back yard you are creating your own eco cycle. If you have too much garden waste for your compost you can order subscription for a special garden waste bin. We collect your garden waste and transport it to Spillepengen for composting.

CANCELLATION OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION 

According to the law house owners must have a subscription for refuse collection, but if you move out the subscription can be cancelled. When you sell your house the refuse collection subscription is transferred to the new owner. The new owner signs the same Change of Ownership Form that you use for cancelling your subscription. After signing send the form to us at VA SYD.

REFUSE BIN COLLECTION

VA SYD's contractors collect waste from single-family houses and businesses according to schedule. Refuse from summer houses and marinas is ordinarily collected once a fortnight between May and August. 

SUBSCRIPTION ON HOLD 

Subscription suspension can be granted by VA SYD under the following circumstances: 

• For permanent dwelling or other real estate, if the house will not be used for a period of at least three successive months.
• For summer house, if the house will not be used for a part of the refuse collection period (May-August). 

The property owner or the person who has access right to the house sends a written application on a special form to VA SYD, no later than one month before the proposed subscription suspension starts.

Suspension is granted for three years maximum; after that a new application must be submitted. You have to specify the reason why the property is not used.
