Refuse Collection

VA SYD is responsible for the waste management in Malmö and Burlöv on behalf of the City of Malmö and the Municipality of Burlöv.

The collection of your household waste is carried out by contractors who have been selected by public procurement procedure.

The City of Malmö and the Municipality of Burlöv, together with 14 other municipalities in southern Skåne, are part-owners in Sysav, (the South Scania Waste Company). Sysav is responsible for the recycling and treatment of all waste. Your household waste is transported to Sysav's plants. Sysav is also in charge of the Recycling Centres.

HOW DO I REPORT A MISSED BIN?

Of course we are doing everything we can to empty your refuse bin! Don't forget that your bin can be emptied up until 19.00 on collection day. If your bin has not been emptied at 19.00 you can report it here:

WHEN IS COLLECTION DAY?

As our customer you have a subscription for refuse collection once a week or once every other week. If your bin is emptied every other week it means either every odd, or every even, week. If you're not sure when your normal collection day is, call our Customer Service at 040-635 10 00.
