About us

VA SYD is a municipal joint authority formed by the water and sewage departments of Lund, Malmö and Burlöv. Malmö and Lund established the joint municipal authority in 2008. 

As of 1 January 2011, the Municipality of Burlöv has joined VA SYD. The purpose of the merger is to be able to better meet the future demands of an increasingly complex sector together. 

WE SUPPLY DRINKING WATER, TREAT WASTEWATER AND HANDLE SOLID WASTE 

The cooperation has led to enhanced efficiency in all of VA SYD's fields of operation. Our goal is to provide good customer service.

We supply fresh drinking water and treat wastewater in Lund, Malmö and Burlöv, and handle the waste management in Malmö and Burlöv. Every day our staff of 300 employees serves more than half a million people.

Our head office is situated on Hans Michelsensgatan 2 in Malmö. In Malmö we also have operational and maintenance units at the Bulltofta Water Treatment Works, the Sjölunda Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Northern harbour, the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Klagshamn and on Strömgatan 4.

In Lund we have operational units both at the Källby Wastewater Treatment Plant and at eight smaller wastewater treatment works. The water treatment works are situated in Källby, Skatteberga and Revingeby.
