storm water treatment - a sign of peter stahre

Early in his career, storm water treatment and how storm water can be handled, became the sign of Peter Stahre. Shortly after he presented his doctoral thesis in 1981, he started his career at the Malmö Water and Wastewaterworks, now VA SYD. Under the leadership of Peter and in collaboration with other public authorities the transformation of the sewer network in Malmö to be a more sustainable system, started. The open “green” solutions were developed and used and turned into appreciated recreational areas in the city.

Blue-green fingerprints in the city of Malmö, Sweden

The last book Peter wrote, “Blue-Green fingerprints in the city of Malmö, Sweden”, describes many storm water treatment solutions and is a good summary of a work that took 20 years to realize.

This interest in research lead to that he was strongly involved in the Swedish organization Svenskt Vatten. He was also appointed Diplomate, water resourses Engineer within the American Society of Civil Engineering, a task of prestige given only to a few non-americans.
