VA SYD is in charge of the waste management in Malmö and Burlöv.

Everything you recycle, from newspapers to bottle caps, is turned into new products. 10 kilos of food waste makes enough biogas to drive a car over 10 km. This is doing a really good thing for the environment!

Your bag of residual waste is collected by VA SYD's contractors and transported to Sysav for combustion. The energy is turned into electricity and district heating, covering 25-30 per cent of Malmö's district heating deliveries.
